Analyzing the penal codes from Columbia, Bolivia and Argentina – countries from South  America, it can be noticed among the stipulations of these three penal codes and the Romanian Penal Code, regarding the fine penalty, there are significant resemblances and defferences. Keywords: Penal Codes, South America, penal fine, penalty, punishment, penalty limits, imprisonment
